lol. nice effort by the channel nine commentators to celebrate the 40th anniversary of one day cricket. my childhood hero michael slater looking very suave.

i’m so glad i didn’t live in the 70’s, not that the 80’s wasnt much better for fashion. although i am tempted to try and get mark nicholas’ light blue suit for my brothers wedding.

Forty years of one day internationals and all I can think to comment on is Mark Nicolas’ wig (or is that his real hair?), surely there’s a law against hair like that?

Dear The BBC, will you please crawl out of Michael Vaughan’s ass. I don’t give a flying fuck what he thinks about anything.

End of decade summit: Best commentator

Jeremy Coney

No other commentator avoids the dross like Jeremy Coney. He tackles cricket head-on, determined to explain, rather than describe, exactly what is going on out there. And he does it with such obvious pleasure and enthusiasm, his arms swirling around urgently to express his points. They are always revealing. Coney is frequently dealt the graveyard shift through the night at Sky, trying to impress upon fill-in presenters why the fielding side must have a leg-slip. But he never loses hope. More Coney please!

Jeremy Coney makes the dullest championship game sound like the most interesting event in history. Every ball has a nuance, every character has a flaw and Coney gets them all.
